Newer Windows versions come packed with a disc image burner that works with ISO or IMG files, allowing you to burn files to discs only if they were previously compiled into ISO or IMG format. Since files cannot be copied to optical discs just as easily as copying them to USB flash drives, it's necessary to use specialized tools to make this happen, called disc burners.
